Black Motherhood • Black Womanhood • With Joy • With Intention

“Mom, you should write a book”

“Mom, you should start a podcast”

“Mom, you should write a magazine article”

“Mom, you should….”

Motherhood In Black is a culmination of the many “Mom, you shoulds” that have been spoken by myself, my father, and my brother over the years. Throughout my life, my mother has never ceased to amaze me with her growing mindfulness and wisdom that have led to us declaring yet another “Mom, you should” at the dinner table. Our hope is that as you engage with Motherhood In Black, you discover and walk away with your own “Mom, you should”.

“Mom, you should love yourself more”

“Mom, you should live your life with joy”

“Mom, you should learn the difference between an imposed “should” and a chosen “could””

“Mom, you should know that you matter”

“Mom, you are loved”

With Love and Intention
